ITS A BOY!

On Friday, December 19, 2008 Scott and I found out we are expecting a baby BOY!! Our wish had come true...a little man will be joining our life; we couldn't be more excited!

I realized on Friday too that we found out on the 19th of September we were pregnant and we were married on the 19th of February. So, I guess the 19th has become a special number for us.

We announced to our moms on December 20, 2008 that they will be having a grandson.

As the pregnancy progresses, we will keep you updated.

A Day in the ER!

On Sunday, October 26 I woke up to a stabbing pain below my left shoulder blade which I would find out later was my lung.

After 8 hours of waiting, blood work, x-rays and CT Scan it was ruled that I had Viral Pleurisy. I have never experienced pain like that in my life. The doctor said I couldn't have any anti-biotics due to the pregnancy but oddly enough they gave me a prescription of Vicodin. I've never had a Vicodin and don't plan to anytime soon. I think I will stick with Tylenol...really!

So, after some much needed rest on Monday, I was able to get back to a normal work routine. Scott's in Chicago this week and I leave for New Orleans on Halloween night! I haven't been to NOLA since June and I am ready to go!

The baby is doing fine....we are 10 weeks and 1 day as of today. I did go back to the doctor on Tuesday and things are progressing as normal. They were still concerned about my wheezing in my left lung, but shouldn't be harming the baby.

I go back again on November 12 for a 12 week check up.

Just wanted to update everyone on whats going on.

First Prenatal Appointment

We had our first prenatal appointment October 1. The visit didn't consist much of anything except: urine test, weight and BP. We found out that we are due May 27. Its still hard to imaginge but its exciting. The morning sickness comes in waves. As long as I have something in my system ALL the time I am good. I am dealing with a lot of headaches, but they said that comes with early pregnancy. The good thing is I can take Tylenol.

I am hoping for a boy, but we'll be excited either way!

We are expecting a BABY!!!

On Friday, September 19, 2008 we found out we are expecting a BABY! I took 3 EPT tests to make sure. I immediately contacted the doctor to make an appointment which will be October 1. We are SO excited. We then started to plan how we would tell our moms. We called them and ask them to come out for a cookout on Saturday. We invited my mom and Charles, Scott's mom and dad, Jim, Laura and Skyler.

Scott created a powerpoint presentation with random pictures, with a picture of the pregnancy tests and then a slide saying "We are having a BABY!"

Its all still SO surreal...but exciting. I had been feeling okay, just extremely tired until Tuesday, September 23 and the morning sickness started. I went to Babies R Us and got Preggie Pops which was recommended by one of my best friends who is having a baby in November. She also suggested Sea Bands which you wear on your wrists...THOSE ARE A GOD SEND!

I am not feeling great but a lot better than Tuesday. THANKS SHELLIE..you are the best!!

To top it all off, I am not sleeping well at night, so I have to take a cat nap when I can.

Finding out we are having a baby has been bitter sweet due to the lose of my grandmother. She wanted us to have a baby SO bad. She had even asked me while she was in the hospital when we were going to have a baby. Not knowing, when she was in the hosptial I was pregnant. But I know her and my dad are in heaven rejoicing!

Anyway, I will keep an update on the pregnancy as much as possible!

Summer Time is Here

Since its summer time, Scott and I have decided to pick up the ol' softball bats again and play on a co-ed team. I can't believe its been almost 6 years since we've played. We are looking forward to hitting the diamond again. Although, after 2 practices so far...our bodies are reminding us we aren't in shape any more not to mention we are 6 years older too.

Sunday, we had practice and it was so hot we could barely make it through, but we survived!!

I will try to post each week on the results from our games.

Also, since the summer is here...we are going to be traveling a little. Scott and I spent a week in Disney back in May and now planning a weekend trip to Panama City with my former roommates from GCSU which I am stoked about.

Next week, I am flying to New Orleans to see Valerie and then we are heading to Biloxi for a couple of days.

Scott will be traveling for business this summer as well!

So, our calendars are filling up fast and summer has just begun.

Greetings

Well...since this is my first time blogging onto this Web site I guess I will begin with how Scott & I began.

Scott and I met May 2000 through my aunt and uncle while playing co-ed softball at Johnson Park. In the beginning, we were just dating but slowly started a serious relationship. The joke is, I asked Scott out on our first date to go to "Scary Movie" on July 29, 2000. From then on we've been together ever since.

During this time, I was attending school at Middle Georgia College and later transfered to Georgia College & State University, and Scott stuck by me through graduation. While a Junior at GCSU, Scott proposed on February 9, 2003 during the Sunday morning service at Prospect United Methodist Church while friends and family witnessed. Wedding plans were then set for after graduation.

In May 2004, I graduated from GCSU with a B.A in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. After a summer internship at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in Macon and job searching, I took a district executive position with the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America which moved me to Douglasville, Ga. At the same time, Scott was working at City Electric in Covington while planning our wedding.

On February 19, 2005 we were married at the exact place where Scott asked me to be his wife...Prospect United Methodist.

In 2006, Scott began a new lighting sales position within the same company of City Electric which requires a large amount of miles on the road. Now, we both work from home and the ability to make our own schedules.

After living in a 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment we ventured out to buy our first home in Paulding County in March 2007.

Over the last year, we've enjoyed our new home, "growing up" and officially being in debt.

Recently, I have brought "Mr. Riley" dog from my mom's to our home!! We love having "Mr." here with us and spoiling him until we have a little one of our own.
